March 14th 2005 marks the largest demonstration in Lebanon’s history. In fact, it is the largest ever in the Middle East. More than one Million Lebanese of all ages gathered in Martyr's Square in the name of Freedom, Sovereignty and Independence. Under Syrian occupation for more than 30 years, Lebanon’s population has demonstrated in the streets of rebuilt Beirut’s postwar downtown everyday since the assassination of Ex Prime Minister, Mr. Rafic Hariri on Februray 14th.
Christians and Muslims were united under the same sky and with the same ambitions for their country waving the Lebanese flag in a sea of red, white and green.
